A varaoosi in golden threads- a weave so rare the next generations may not even know the name of it.
A varaoosi is a weave where horizontal, very sleek lines are woven in the fabric, almost adding a dual tone/sheen to the saree without being too obvious.
Here, the lines are woven with golden zari in pure tissue silk fabric. Yesssss!!!! Finally a graceful black kanjivaram in the luxury of tissue silk, flowing without weight, sitting around like a royalty.
The saree has a deep black translucent base, contoured with deep fuchsia pink sleek borders and a grand pallu. The sleek line on the borders is only for the contrast, aftual borders are hand carved with annapaksha motif using meenakari technique. Have a look for yourself.
The blouse piece is in running towards the pallu side- it’s a true piece of art with a blinding sheen of gold and fuchsia, appearing absolutely heavenly. One can only image dressed in this saree, standing right next to the throne, probably just for the pose but yes, you’ll own it.
