A kanjivaram is beautiful but a vintage kanjivaram is a rare gem.
Durga is a 35 year old handwoven mulberry silk kanjivaram. Hailing from an era when only royals could own silk, when weavers poured their hearts into making every weave a master piece that would make the woman feel divine, Durga comes with a sheen that is almost unexplainable.
She has an elaborate and grand pallu, royal would be the correct word with traditional borders, attached to the body using interlocking technique(korvai).
