Dulhan ♥️
It’s a saree that would make any bride wanna reconsider her Sabyasachi lehenga. It’s a saree you can’t find at a designer, because heirloom pieces are crafted by our very own weavers.
Before diving deep into the weave, let’s see what all weaves are in there-
♥️ Khaddi
♥️ Kadhua
♥️ Jamavar
♥️ Sona Rupa
♥️ Jangla
♥️ Narghis
♥️ Meenakari
♥️ 1000 Buti
♥️ Valkalam
9 weaves & patterns in just one saree. The weavers take a good 5 months to finish a piece like this, they call it the Navratna Banarasi and pour their heart and soul into it.
The details get more and more intense the more you look at the saree.
It starts on a weightless, non-granular pure georgette base in bridal red, carved on the body in hand kadhua narghis jangla jaal in not just gold but silver zari too.
A touch of light pink in the jaal adds a divine sheen as the saree moves, and it moves like air.
The borders are closely woven in a blooming floral valkalam weave while the pallu is carved with extra intricate jamavar. The pesleys are almost submerging into one another and you only see them up close.
The blouse piece is another master piece. It’s not there to take the limelight away from the saree or sit there blankly, in fact, it does a better job of a saree enhances. Flows in the same colour with golden zari butas, handwoven and finished in kadhua weave.
